Youth unemployment is a pressing global issue that leads to a range of social, economic, and psychological problems, including delinquency. In the context of Islamic teachings, unemployment among the youth is not just an economic concern but a moral and spiritual one. Islam emphasizes the importance of productive engagement, ethical behavior, and social responsibility. This paper explores the causes of youth unemployment, such as lack of education, skill mismatch, and economic instability, which often lead to frustration, isolation, and delinquent behaviors such as theft, substance abuse, and violence. The paper also highlights the profound effects of youth unemployment, including social unrest, increased crime rates, and weakened family structures. Delinquency is not only a result of unemployment but also a challenge to the moral fabric of society. In the light of Islamic teachings, solutions are proposed, focusing on education, skills development, fostering entrepreneurship, and creating a just and equitable economic system. Islam encourages youth to pursue knowledge, develop their skills, and contribute positively to society while the state and community have responsibilities to ensure fair opportunities for employment. By integrating these teachings with modern socio-economic strategies, this paper suggests a holistic approach to addressing youth unemployment and delinquency.
