Abstract

The responsible use of public office and resources is a fundamental principle upheld by various societies worldwide. In the context of Islamic teachings, particularly those derived from the Prophet Muhammad's examples and sayings, this concept gains significant prominence. Prophet Muhammad emphasized justice, accountability, and stewardship in governance and resource management. His teachings underscored the importance of ensuring that public officeholders act with integrity, honesty, and transparency. Furthermore, he advocated for the equitable distribution of resources, prioritizing the welfare of the community over personal gain. These principles align with the broader Islamic concept of amanah, which refers to the responsibility and trust bestowed upon individuals in positions of authority. Therefore, adhering to the Prophet's teachings necessitates that public officials fulfill their duties conscientiously, uphold ethical standards, and utilize resources judiciously for the betterment of society. This abstract explores how Islamic principles, exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad's teachings, advocate for the responsible use of public office and resources, emphasizing accountability, integrity, and stewardship.
